In order to prevent immobilisation of the magnetic pigments during drying, the magnetic binder-containing storage medium contains highly dispersed pyrogenic silicic acid having a primary particle diameter of 5-30 nm, a surface silanol group density of 2-3.5 SiOH/nm<2> and a BET surface area of 200-400 m<2>/g in an amount of 1-8 % by weight, based on the magnetic pigment. To intensify the structural viscosity, compounds containing two or more OH or NH2 groups, such as glycerol or ethylenediamine, may also be added.
