Process and device for making warps for weaving and knitting

A plurality of yarns is twisted on twisting spindles (1). The yarn balloon obtained thereby is limited by yarn guides (6) and the yarns are combined via delivery devices (2) by means of further yarn guides (7) to form one or more yarn groups (5) which are wound onto the sectional beams (4) via a traversing comb (3). A plurality of sectional beams are brought onto a common shaft and thus presented to a warp-knitting machine. For weaving, a warp section is formed from one or more sectional beams; a plurality of such warp sections are brought next to one another onto a warping drum and subsequently rewound to form the warp. But it is also possible to combine a plurality of sectional beams to form a warping cylinder and to assemble a plurality of such warping cylinders to form the warp. <IMAGE>
