A dust separator with a filter cell, such as an electrically operated separator, arranged in an air channel transversely to the air stream is assigned a cleaning device which is operated by compressed air and is composed of an upright distributor pipe with nozzles arranged at a distance from one another, which pipe is arranged so as to be displaceable in front of or behind the filter cell in its working width, the part of the air channel lying opposite the filter cell being assigned devices for carrying away dust.
