The invention relates to a method for producing and installing heating filaments for heated cathodes. In order to reinforce the filament and to save the filament heater holder which would otherwise be necessary it is proposed that the heater wire be welded at its limb ends after winding, or that the filament heater ends have supporting wire wound over them, the supporting wire ends likewise being welded to one another to reinforce the complete filament.
