Electronically controlled circular cross-cut saw for wood

In an electronically controlled circular cross-cut saw, the wood to be cut to length is gripped at its rear end by a carrier fastened to a pulling means and is pushed to the circular cross-cut saw. A roller having an electronic rotary transducer is attached to the pulling means in such a way that said rotary transducer serves as a rotary- and hence position-measuring device for a speed control system, the deflection of the chain, seen in the conveying direction, taking place after the saw blade, and the pulling means being attached so far under a feed channel, in which the material to be cut to length is guided, that a free cutting of the circular saw blade is possible without touching the pulling means. To achieve a high degree of positioning accuracy, the speed changes and the braking can be electrically controlled and the frictional forces between wood and feed channel can be changed.
