The slow-running electrical disc-type generator has very simple regulation for power matching, a large rotor diameter, linked to a large magnetic flux, split into a large number of pole pairs, which are consistent with energy recovery from windmills and water wheels. The electrical insulation between the tooth base and the magnetic yoke keeps the circulating currents within reasonable limits. The large diameter of the rotor has a damping effect on suddenly occurring accelerations resulting from squalls in the case of windmills.
