Method and automatic credit unit for the automated dispensing of products of any kind, especially of fuels at filling stations and the like, with a card of the first kind containing personal data of the customer in coded form and with a card of the second kind which, after a clear identification of the customer by the additional input on a keyboard of a code number which is clearly related via an algorithm to the customer data on the card of the first type, as a blank bank cheque completed by the automatic credit unit itself both through the customer data and with the data relating to the product. This card of the second kind constitutes a bank cheque and remains in a collecting container of the automatic credit unit, in order to be removed later by an authorised supervisor and passed on to the respective credit institute for the debiting of the amount owed. <IMAGE>
