The invention relates to a droppable body in the form of a mine for combatting ground targets, which is dropped from a carrier aircraft or from an ammunition container of a carrier aircraft. The mine, after being dropped, is set in rapid rotation, for example by means of air scoops (4). The mine is moreover so designed that, after impact with the ground, this rotational energy is converted at least partially into a translational movement. As a result of the design of the mine, the latter follows an irregular path (11) on the ground until it comes to a stop. The effective combat area of such a droppable mine can thereby be increased. To obtain this irregular path, the mine is equipped, for example on its circumference, with helical springs (6) coordinated with the weight of the mine. The mine can also have a design in the form of a cube, cylinder or ellipsoid. <IMAGE>
