PURPOSE:To enable a paper feed with no snaking motion without increasing the number of rolls while leaving the roll surface smooth by applying a pinch force so that hard rolls with a narrow width sink deep into a long and slender roll by the thickness of the paper and more. CONSTITUTION:By making hard rolls 1 sink into an elastic roll 2 by the thickness of the paper S or more, the smooth elastic roll can obtain a friction force equal to or more than that of a roll applied with a pattern or a hallmark, and besides, the change of the friction force is small as compared with a roll having a pattern or a hallmark. In addition, to maintain the friction force of the elastic roll 2 constant, the axial direction length W of the hard roll 1 is selected to be twice the diameter D of the elastic roll 2 or less. Accordingly, the friction force of the elastic roll 2 is maintained high and constant and the paper S can be fed with no snaking motion under a constant friction force by limiting the pinch width of the paper S by means of the hard rolls 1. |
