PURPOSE:To obtain 2X2 switches of simple construction by using polymer films having crossed optical waveguides in the incident and exit parts for light beams, and disposing a piezoelectric bimorph adjacently to said films. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric bimorph 2 for driving is disposed adjacently to a polymer optical film 6 having optical waveguides crossed with a polymer optical film 5 having mutually parallel optical waveguides. While no voltage is applied to the bimorph 2, the optical waveguides parts 7, 10 of the film 5 and a static polymer optical film 9 having parallel optical waveguides align, and two optical beams advance rectilinear. Conversely, when voltage is applied thereto, the film 6 having the crossed waveguides 8 align to the film 9 and the two light beams advance by alternating their positions with each other. |
