PURPOSE:To prepare an asbestos cement board of proper thickness by such an arrangement wherein the thickness of a thin membrane of asbestos cement board prepared is measured by a contact type thickness gauge and the manufacturing speed of a thin membrane of asbestos cement is adjusted in response to the measured value. CONSTITUTION:When the number of layers of thin membrane wound around a making roll 6 reaches a specified number of layer, and immediately after a wire type cutter 61 of the making roll 6 has passed a thickness gauge 7, an attachment 71 of the thickness gauge 7 is automatically brought to contact with a wound roll of thin membrane and it is caused to detach from the wound roll of thin membrane after the making roll rotates by a small angle alpha deg. (less than 15 deg.) and during this short period, the thickness of the wound roll of thin membrane is measured. This measured value is sent to a drive control unit 5 of a feltlike belt 3 and the speed of the feltlike belt 3 is adjusted when the thickness of the wound roll of thin membrane is deviated from a standard value. |
