BASIC ETHERS OF 7-OXO-7H-BENZO/C/FLUORENE AND A PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION

The invention relates to basic ethers of 7-oxo-7H-benzo¢c!fluorene of the general formula (I): (I) wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl group and Z represents an omega-¢N,N-dialkylamino!alkyl radical, and to their addition salts with pharmaceutically acceptable inorganic and organic acids. Also, the invention relates to a process for the production of the above identified compounds of the general formula I by aminoalkylation of 5-hydroxy-7-oxo-7H-benzo¢c!fluorene and its correspondingly nuclear-substituted derivatives on the hydroxylic oxygen atom in the position 5. The compounds of the general formula I showed a markedly pronounced antineoplastic effect in animals with solid and ascitic transplantable tumors and two kinds of leukemias.
