PURPOSE:To obstain a sliding member with superior lubricity at the surface at a low cost by covering an electrically conductive core wire for spraying with a solid lubricant. CONSTITUTION:An electrically conductive core wire for spraying made of carbon steel, alloy steel, Cu alloy or the like is covered with a solid lubricant such as graphite, fluorinated graphite, activated carbon, lead or cast iron. The covering agent has <=100mum. especially 0.5-50mum grain size. The covering agent is mixed with a suitable binder and a liq. such as alcohol, and the mixture is applied to the core wire by means of a brush or the like. A sprayed layer with superior lubricity is obtd. on the surface of the substrate of a sliding member by wire explosion spraying with the resulting core wire for spraying. |
