PURPOSE:To facilitate the drive of inverters by connecting a series circuit of a current type inverter and a voltage type inverter to a DC power source to be converted, connecting the AC terminal of both the inverters to a coupling converter and shortcircuiting the current type inverter via a resistor. CONSTITUTION:A current type inverter having a smoothing reactor L, controlled rectifiers CR1, CR2, CR1', CR2', and a voltage type inverter having diodes D3, D4, D3', D4', controlled rectifiers CR3, CR4, CR3', CR4' and a smoothing condenser C are connected in series with each other, and this series circuit is connected to a DC power source E to be converted. The AC terminals of both the inverters are connected to the primary side of a coupling converter T. A resistor R is connected in parallel with the current type inverter. In this manner, since the condenser C can be rapidly charged when the power source is ON, the inverter can be readily started even if the current type inverter employs separate excitation type. |
