摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the heat transfer capacity of a heat exchanger by a method wherein in the heat exchanger for an air conditioner, a plurality of cylindrical members are arranged in the direction of the stages of the heat exchanger on the downstream side thereof and in parallel relationships with heat transfer pipes and the cylindrical members are connected to the heat transfer pipes, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical members 5 are provided on the downstream side, and in the direction of the stages, of the heat exchanger in such a manner that the cylindrical member 5 are arranged in a zigzag fashion with respect to the heat transfer pipe 2 and connected to the latters. With the above structure, when a heat source fluid flowing through the heat transfer pipes 2 is made to exchange heat with air, the passage of the air flowing behind the third row of the heat transfer pipes 2c is narrowed and the size of a dead water region 4c becomes as small as the size of each of dead water regions 4a and 4b. Accordingly, the surface area of heat transfer working effectively for heat exchange is increased and the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger is improved. Further, due to the provision of the cylindrical members 5, the resistance against ventilation increases to some degree but it can be neglected because it is much smaller than the like resistance generating due to the existence of plate fins 1.
