PURPOSE:To prevent useless power consumption to save the power consumption while the reception is on stand-by, by varying the start timing of a power supply to a demodulating circuit in response to the detected voltage after detecting the power supply voltage and by shortening the supply time of voltage in case the demodulating circuit has a quick response with a high level of power supply voltage. CONSTITUTION:A radio device is provided with a signal transmitter which transmits call signals for a prescribed period of time from the application of a call switch and a signal receiver which receives intermittently the call signals with a period shorter than the prescribed period of the call signals. A detecting circuit 16 for power supply voltage is connected to a power supply controlling part 15 of the signal receiver to detect the power supply voltage V. Then the reference voltage is compared with the voltage V by a comparator 18 of the circuit 16. When the detected voltage V is low, the start timing is accelerated for the power supply to a demodulating circuit 9 from the controlling part 15. While the start timing is decelerated when the voltage V is high. Thus the useless power consumption is suppressed to save the power consumption while the reception stands ready. |
