The power plant has a steam boiler and a high pressure turbine(2,3) between which is separately fired superheater(7) with a fluidized bed. A control valve(15) for the turbine is arranged between the boiler & superheater. Regulation of the steam pressure is carried out before the superheater & a permanent full steam velocity through the superheater is achieved all the way down to the lowest load on the turbine. The steam boiler may have an economiser(10), a steam dome(11) & a superheater(12).
