MANUFACTURE OF PLATE FOR LEAD-ACID BATTERY

PURPOSE:To provide an electrode plate having a right shape and dimension by punching a reference hole at constant intervals in the center in the width direction of a lead alloy sheet and making expanding, then forming a lug for current collecting by using the reference hole as a reference. CONSTITUTION:A lead alloy sheet 11 is fed to reference hole punching equipment to punch a reference hole 1e at constant intervals in the center in its width direction. A mesh part 1a is formed in the center in the width direction of the sheet 1 except for required width dimension with an expanding machine. The sheet 1 is supplied to a forming machine using the reference hole and a punched portion 1b is formed in the center which is not expanded and the mesh part 1a is reformed with a press. Since the punched portion 1b coincides with the center between mesh portions 1a, width dimension of a lateral bone which supports current collecting lugs 1c is uniform and battery performance is stabilized.
