PURPOSE:To improve the flatness in the discharge characteristic of an organic- electrolyte primary battery by suppressing increase of the internal resistance in the last stage of the discharge by mixing powder or fine pieces of polyacetylene into the positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:Polyacetylene powder is mixed into a positive active material prepared by subjecting manganese dioxide to heat treatment, and the mixture is added with both a conductive agent and a binding agent before thus obtained mixture is pressed into a positive electrode 1. Next, the positive electrode 1 is placed on the inner bottom wall of a positive can 10. Then, a load 2 made of a lithium plate is installed in a negative can 20, with a current collecting plate 21 interposed between the can 20 and the load 2. After that, a separator 3 impregnated with organic electrolyte consisting of a solvent and a solute which contains lithium perchlorate, is interposed between the positive and the negative electrodes 1 and 2, thereby constituting an organic-electrolyte primary battery. By the means mentioned above, the electric conductivity of the battery can be increased owing to polyacetylene contained in the electrode 1. As a result, the discharge characteristic of the battery in the last stage of discharge can be flattened by suppressing any rapid increase of the internal resistance. |
