PURPOSE:To improve the workability, by delivering the start signal when the coincidence of conditions is obtained between the contact output signal which detects that a pressure plate is closed and the output signal supplied from a photodetecting element that detects that an original is set. CONSTITUTION:An oblong exposure lamp 10 having a reflecting plate 11 is provided at the lower side of the right edge of a contact glass 2 and scanned toward an arrow P to irradiate an original 5. Then the lamp 10 is turned off from the left edge of the glass 2 and returns to the right edge. Thus a designated number of copies is performed. In addition to a luminous flux 13 for exposure, the light leaked out through small holes 11A and 12A which are formed at the upper side of the plate 11 and a light shielding plate 12 respectively are used, and the presence or absence of the original 5 is detected by a photodetecting element 15 via an optical fiber 17 within a pressure plate 3. At the same time, a reed switch 16 and a magnet 19 detect that the plate 3 is closed. Then the copying action is started after detecting that the original 5 is set and that the plate 3 is closed. When the copy reaches a desired number, the plate 3 is opened to stop the operation. Then the operation is started again after exchanging the original 5. In such way, the copying work is carried out with high efficiency. |
