PURPOSE:To reduce the volume of gas in a tank and to thereby minimize fluctuations in the level of the upper surface of a liquid in the tank, by making the body of the tank with reinforced concrete, the most part of which is buried in the ground, by extending a truncated cone part at the top of an upright cylindrical part of the tank having a flat bottom. CONSTITUTION:The body 11 of a tank made of reinforced concrete and buried under the ground surface (a) is constituted by an upright cylindrical part 11a with a flat bottom and a truncated cone part 11b extended at the top of the upright cylindrical part 11a. The upper end of the truncated cone part 11b is located in level with the ground surface (a). Further, a steel roof 14 in the form of a spherical dome is fitted in an opening formed at the top of the turncated cone 11b to located in the plane extended from the part 11b, and decks 16 having diameters reduced according to the diameter of the opening at the top of the truncated cone part 11b are depended from the roof 14 by means of suspending rods 15. Further, a low-temperature insulating layer 17 is applied over the surface of the decks 16. |
