<p>PURPOSE:To prevent falling down of chips into a pipe during cutting by arranging the first magnet for storing chips in the vicinity of the cut position on the periphery of a magnetic pipe, and carrying-out cutting, and inserting the second magnet onto which chips adhere, into the pipe after cutting. CONSTITUTION:In the method for cutting a pipe which is laid down as a variety of piping for a heat exchanger etc., a magnet 11 is installed in the vicinity of a cut position 10a on a pipe 10. Said pipe is cut at the cut position 10a by using a cutting tool such as metal sawing machine etc. Although chips 12 are formed during cutting and tend to fall down into the pipe, said chips are held on the inner wall of the pipe by the magnet 11. After cutting is completed, the second magnet 13 is inserted to discharge chips 12 from the cut position 10a on the pipe 10. The chips are allowed to adhere onto the magnet 13, and then the magnet 11 outside the pipe is taken out. Then, the chips 12 is discharged by pulling out the magnet 13 outside the pipe, and thus the cutting operation is completed.</p> |
