<p>The appts. is intended for heat-treating a liquid, such as pasteurising milk, by heat exchange (in 1) with water which is heated (in 6) by injecting steam (from 3). The steam supply tube (3) extends into a water filled vessel (6) and has a perforated (10) portion therein which is surrounded by a jacket (8) with fine openings (9), the annular space between the perforated tube portion and the jacket being filled with steel wool (11) or the like. The heated water is pref. circulated (5,1,5) through the heat exchanger (1) by a pump (2), an outlet (4) for condensate being provided before re-entry into the water heating vessel (6). FL.</p> |
