A cranked flexible hose is mfd. by placing a length of tubular thermosetting thermosetting material over a mandrel of the desired shape, fixing the ends to the mandrel, and heaving the pipe and mandrel to cure the material. The pipe is originally cut to the final desired length and, because its ends are clamped to the mandrel, it does not shrink on curing. Used for joining pipework in automotive engines. Time and material are saved as the pipe does not need to be cut to length after curing.
