PURPOSE:To improve impact resistivity and seaming strength at the boundary of the rim part of a vane by using a metal frame at the rim part and a laminated FRP at the middle part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The rim part 1 of a propeller vane is made of stainless steel or the like and the middle part 4 thereof is made up of bonded lamination of FRP. The rim part 2 of the vane has a ridge 3 at the center so as to prevent removal of the FRP which is fitted into the vane at the middle and seamed and to enlarge the seamed area of both members. The metal frame of the rim part of the vane may protect it from an impact by, a drifting wood or so and the FRP employed the middle may reduce the total weight. Additionally, improvement of the surface roughness of the vane, prevention of adherence of marine lives and improvement of the power transmission efficiency are achieved. |
