The sleeve is formed in a cylindrical bellows terminated at the top in a block with a conical upper bushing, and at the bottom in a similar block with a conical cavity to fit over a lower conical bushing. The central region of the sleeve is formed in a cylindrical bellows, coupling the two end blocks, and enclosing the fuse link. Both end blocks are fixed to the metal frame carrying the conical bushings by bolts. To gain access to the fuse link one end of the sleeve is unbolted and the flexible bellows compressed. The sleeve is filled with an insulating gas, e.g. SF6. The dimensions of the bellows are such that at the central portion the amount of play w.r.t the fuse is sufficient to avoid any ionisation of the enveloping air.
|
