<p>The column ornament comprises a baseplate on which the column is mounted, this in turn having a supporting base for the ornament. Both the baseplate (1) and the supporting base (3) have fixes (5) securing them rigidly to the column (2). Each fixing can consist of a sole plate with a flanged edge shaped to fit over the column, to which it can be glued or screwed, or alternatively the column can be a press-fit in it. The column can comprise two concentric tubes, while each fixing has one flange fitting round the inner tube and a second one round the outer tube.</p> |
