Confectionery-making machine - uses two superimposed endless belts travelling in opposite directions to shape confections

A machine for making confectionery employs two endless belts travelling horizontally in opposite directions a short distance apart while the upper belt is simultaneously oscillated in a horizontal plane at 90 deg. to the direction of travel of the belt. Portions of chocolate-covered confectionery are fed into the cup between the two belts and the relative motion of the two belts shapes them into a resemblance of thistles. They then pass direct to a cooling apparatus to solidify the chocolate. Used in the prodn. of confectionery known as thistles (chardons).
