In a frisbee having a downward-curved and reinforced disc edge, the disc plane of which is completely flat, the weight ratio of disc plane to disc edge is a maximum of 3 to 4. With this and smaller weight ratios (3:5, 3:6, etc.), the gyroscopic effect stabilising the flying attitude of the frisbee is so great that the disc performs flights which are almost exclusively stable in direction, partly because it is particularly easy to cause it to rotate and throw it accurately (towards the catcher).
