PURPOSE:To obtain readily and economically titled resin of outstanding hydrophilic nature, having specifically adsorptive ability for boron, by the resinification of a phenolic compound with an aminopolyalcohol group introduced in its nucleus. CONSTITUTION:A reaction is carried out between (A) a phenolic compound (pref. phenol), (B) an aldehyde (pref: formaldehyde) and (C) a compound of formulaI (R1 is H or 1-5C alkyl)[e.g. this (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane]to prepare a phenolic compound with an aminopolyalcohol group introduced, as a chelate- forming group, in its nucleus, followed by the polycondensation, in the presence of a catalyst (pref. an alkali such as NaOH), between said phenolic compound and the components A and B to effect three-dimensional crosslinking, thus obtaining the objective resin. EFFECT:Having high mechanical strength, highly resistant to organic contamination. |
