PURPOSE:To regularly align printing letter array by relatively delaying the printing time points of the respective heads of a multihead printer, thereby completely eliminating the gap between the zone regions of the respective heads and duplication. CONSTITUTION:A delay circuit 21 is formed at any of the heads 1, 2 of the output of a flip-flop 8. When the position adjustment of both heads 1, 2 is insufficient or the adjustment is in error, the heads are delayed in the number of dots which are displaced in space direction by this circuit 21, thereby coinciding the seals of the printing regions of the heads 1, 2. For example, the waveform of the fire enable signal FES1 at this time is generated in delay corresponding to the number of prescribed dots from the waveform of the FES2. In this manner, the gap can be corrected. |
