摘要 PURPOSE:To attain a luminance signal having high resolution, by synthesizing a color difference signal through the synchronization of a plurality of color signals in the output of a color image pickup device using a solid-state image sensor with a delay circuit for one horizontal scanning period and processing the color difference signal through calculation processing. CONSTITUTION:A G signal and a R/B signal obtained from an image pickup output of an image sensor through color separation are applied to a chroma processing circuit 10 from terminals 1, 2, synthesized at a signal synthesizer 11 to obtain a difference signal of C2N=(R/B)2N-(G)2N and to obtain a difference signal C2N-1 before 1H at a 1H delay circuit 12. The signals are outputted as CR, CB alternately at each 1H from a signal selection circuit 13, and the color difference signals CR, CB in EquationI are obtained in the horizontal scanning period of H2N and the similar color difference signal is obtained also during the period of next H2N+1. A luminance signal forming circuit 20 forms a high frequency luminance signal YH based on the G and R/B signals and forms a low frequency luminance signal YL by using the G, CR, and CB signals, both the signals YL, YH are synthesized at a signal synthesizer 50 to form a luminance signal Y.
