Arrangement is intended for identifying mfg. errors in the folded top (2) and bottom (2') ends of bags (1) mechanically produced from tubular plastic foil. Each flat bag with its ends also in flat condition (e.g. at right angles to the plane of the bag) is moved (driven rollers 6) through a sensor assembly (4-6) in a direction at right angles to the length of the bag (i.e. normal to plane of drawing). The sensors (4,5) respond to the thickness of each folded end and are arranged such that they measure this thickness along at least two parallel lines (four lines in the fig.) over the entire length of each end (i.e. the entire width of the bag plus the lateral projections of the end flaps). Used for identifying mfg. errors in folded ends of bags formed from plastic foil tube to reject faulty bags. Arrangement enables identifying fold errors in bags whose ends are provided with cover sheets and/or bags of which one end (2) is provided with a filling valve flap. |
