The switch has a base (1) and four fixed contacts (10-13) mounted on the base each with curved sections (10a etc.) spaced apart in the direction of rotation and together forming a continuous circular wall. A rotor (16) rotates inside the circular wall and has two contacts (21,22) whose ends bridge adjacent fixed contacts. A cover (23) attaches to the base and supports the rotor as it rotates. Devices fixed to the rotor and cover, guide and limit the rotation of the rotor to within a range of angles. The base has a circular recess (6) in which the curved section of the contacts and the rotor are located.
