The clamping block fits onto a vehicle wheel to prevent movement having components secured in position in relation to each other and the wheel by fixing devices. The basic part comprises a central piece (9) from which legs (11,12) converge downwards in a trapezium shape to a foot piece (10) joining them together. One leg is extended upwards and has a bent-over portion with an arm (8) fitting round the rim, and on which protective devices can be fitted. Part of the central piece between the legs forms a socket, partly open at the top and also extending beyond the leg (12). This accommodates the bar-shaped foot of the other part of the clamp, similarly shaped to that on the basic part. The bar-shaped foot also accommodates the wheel cover (6), held in place by a pin fitting in a hole in it.
