In the two-stage carburettor an independent secondary fuel system is provided for each cylinder and it has a pipe in the secondary idling mixture line which joins the carburation part and the manifold part together in order, when supplying each cylinder with a fuel/air mixture, to obtain a uniform fuel/air ratio without any build-up of air in the course of the transition from the primary side to the secondary side and to make the transition gentle and accurate. <IMAGE>
