Transmissions, for example multi-stage gear box, require intermediate bearings for the shafts because of the required overall length. The said bearings are arranged in walls rigidly connected to the transmission casing. This arrangement is very expensive as regards material and assembly. The intermediate support according to the invention proposes a holding part (6) which is supported only on the shafts (2, 3, 4) of the transmission (1) and is not connected to the transmission casing.
