<p>The charger has protective circuits incorporated to guard against incorrect connection and reverse polarity connection. An integrated circuit voltage regulator capable of delivering 1.5 to 5 Ampere, depending on type, and having internal overcurrent protection forms the principal charging device. The current controller uses a series resistor equal in value to half the cell amp/hour capacity, with the voltage over the resistor being used to regulate the current. The voltage regulation uses a voltage divider including a potentiometer to set the final voltage. During charging a red LED is driven by a transistor and when charging is complete a yellow LED is illuminated.</p> |
