摘要 <p>The servo-mechanism controls the penetration of ripping tools whilst guiding the support tractor, being used with beet-harvesting equipment. A support capable of horizontal and vertical displacements locates two runners which run along the ground whilst making contact with one or more rows of beet plants. The tractor hydraulics transmit horizontal and vertical runner displacements to the tractor steering gear and to the tools respectively. Four rods on the edges of a cube may connect the support to a tractor plate in a manner accommodating horizontal and vertical displacement. A horizontal arm and a vertical link may transmit vertical movements to a simple distributor whilst a similar linkage with a horizontal link and a rocker transmits horizontal movements to a two way distributor.</p>
