The application describes an anti-slip tape for increasing the coefficient of friction of trouser or skirt waistbands. The side of the tape (1) facing the garment wearer's body is provided with knob-like elevations (2), the knob height being smaller than the knob spacing, and, with a Shore hardness of approximately 50 DEG Shore (A), the knob diameter being selected so that, in the event of a parallel displacement between the tape (1) and the garment (8) to be held in its position by friction, the knobs (2, 6) fold round, so that not the end face (9) but the side face (6) of the individual knob (2) acts as a frictional surface. The functioning of the system can be seen advantageously in Figure 1. <IMAGE>
