Heat exchanger, in particular vertical feed water preheater, such as a high-pressure preheater, having a steam moisture separator, which is provided in the region of the steam inlet and has a plurality of profiled rows consisting of rods which are mounted between the tubes of the heat exchanger and the steam inlet, the gaps between the adjacent rods of the profiled rows (6a, 6b, 6c) being arranged offset from profiled row to profiled row, seen in the direction towards the tubes of the heat exchanger. The rods are designed as tubes (6), and the openings are formed by grooving (16) essentially covering the length of the tubes. The grooving (16) is essentially aligned with the direction (3') of the steam inlet. The grooving (16) per profiled row (6a, 6b, 6c) is arranged in each case on the side of the tubes (6) averted from and/or facing the steam inlet, and arranged, by contrast, on only one side per tube. <IMAGE>
