The invention relates to a tachometer generator having a multi-pole magnetic disc, which can be rotatably driven in accordance with the speed to be detected, the axially directed poles of which are arranged uniformly distributed on the magnetic disc, forming a concentric circle. Axially in front of the magnetic disc, a Hall element is firmly arranged, by which a sinusoidal voltage can be generated in accordance with the rotary movement of the magnetic disc. To provide for small constructional size whilst retaining correct functioning, a second magnetic disc corresponding to the magnetic disc is arranged in such a manner that the Hall element is arranged approximately in the centre between the magnetic discs, the magnetic disc can be jointly rotatably driven and in each case a pole of one magnetic disc is opposite to an opposite pole of the other magnetic disc.
