<p>A surgical instrument comprises an elongate body which has a working zone at its distant end. Cinematically connected together and arranged within the body are: a mechanism for supplying a reserve of wire inside the working zone of the body, a mechanism for shaping U- shaped clamps from the wire, and a mechanism, for remodelling U-shaped clamps in order to provide rectangular-shaped clamps, provided with a pusher device and a pushing member. The pusher device is connected to an alternating transmission along the longitudinal axis of the body and is provided with a working portion in the form of two V-shaped projections. The pushing member is arranged in the working zone of the body perpendicular to its longitudinal axis in a plane of movement of the pusher device in such a manner that it can be moved outside this plane. The length of the pushing member is less than that of the transverse side of the U-shaped clamp.</p> |
