A suction or blow-off pipe, in particular for heat pumps, consists of an essentially horizontally extending section and an essentially vertically extending section with an opening. According to a preferred embodiment, the inner wall of the sections (1 and 2) is provided with a sound-insulating device. According to a further embodiment, the essentially horizontally extending section, which is embedded in the earth, is provided on its outer wall with a material layer which prevents corrosive action by moisture etc. on the section (2). <IMAGE>
