The invention relates to a mirror which can be heated and is used especially as a motor vehicle external mirror. The mirror has a heating element which consists of two metal sheets. One or more PTC resistors are arranged between these metal sheets. An insulating intermediate layer, which abuts tightly against the metal sheets and encloses the PTC resistors, is located between the metal sheets. The PTC resistors are clamped between the metal sheets. A further improvement provides that there are at least two PTC resistors which have different rated temperatures (Curie temperatures). <IMAGE>
