PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion in the frequency amplitude characteristic and the group delay characteristic by providing at least a notch or a projection to adjacent electrode edges of adjacent electrode fingers. CONSTITUTION:Notches 303,603 having a tilt angle of >= 5 deg. are formed to a part of an electrode finger 301 of one interdigital electrode 3 being a part of an exciting electrode 4 and a part of an electrode finger 601 of one interdigital electrode 6 being a part of a reception electrode 7 respectively. In making a surface acoustic wave 8 incident on the reception electrode 7, an acoustic reflected wave is caused at the edge of the electrode finger 601. The acoustic reflected wave does not go to the direction of the exciting electrode at a part where the edge of the electrode finger 601 is cut off tiltedly and no effect is caused in the characteristic. Since the phase of the acoustic reflected wave is opposite to the phase of the electric reflected wave, the production of the undesired distortion in the frequency amplitude characteristic and the group delay characteristic is prevented.
