PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a fixing roller and a pawl so that the separating performance can be maintained extending over a long period of time, by providing a separating pawl of the fixing roller so as to be attachable and detachable, and attaching and detaching the separating pawl in accordance with a sheet position. CONSTITUTION:A separating pawl 6 against a fixing roller 1 is supported by a supporting shaft 5 so as to be freely turnable, and is energized clockwise by a tension spring 9. On a shaft 15, an arm lever 16 and a rocking lever 17 are provided, an actuator 20a is connected to the lever 17, and when a solenoid 20 is energized, the lever 16 pushes up a pin 14, and the separating pawl 6 is turned counter-clockwise. When a sheet has reached the roller 1, the solenoid is de- energized and the pawl 6 is made to press-contact with the roller by the spring 9. When the sheet reaches a discharge roller, the solenoid 20 is energized and the pawl 6 is separated. Therefore, a contact time of the pawl 6 becomes extremely short, damage of the roller 1 and the pawl 6 is prevented, and the separating performance is maintained extending over a long period of time. |
