PURPOSE:To sequentially detect skew in a document during reading, by reading straight lines for skew detection printed in parallel with the side of the document sequentially. CONSTITUTION:Skew detection marks M1, M2 are printed near upper sides of a document 1. On the document 1, a straight line L for skew detection is printed at a position through a document origin P in parallel with the left side. The main scanning is executed horizontally from the left and right in the reading scanning with a picture reader, and sub-scanning is executed vertically from the upper to lower direction. In the main scanning line at each point of time, the skew is sequentially detected by detecting the horizontal distance (x) from a virtual straight line drawn from the origin P toward the sub-scanning direction to the reading position of the straight line L. |
