PURPOSE:To permit production of dispersion reinforced metallic powder which is a raw material for production of dispersion reinforcement type sintering alloys by using a bar-like sintered body of metallic powder and nonmetallic powder as a rotary electrode, and melting and scattering the same by means of arcs in an inert gaseous atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The metallic powder which is dispersed uniformly with nonmetals as a raw material in the stage of producing dispersion reinforcement type sintered alloys by mixing, molding and sintering metallic powder, and nonmetallic powder of metallic oxides, metallic nitrides, metallic carbides, etc. is produced. The powder of <=100 meshes of Cr, Ti, Zr, Al and other metals and the powder of <=250 meshes of high m.p. nonmetalic materials such as oxides, carbides and nitrides of these metals are mixed at suitable ratios and the mixture is sintered to manufacture a rotary electrode. While such electrode is rotated at a high speed as an anode in an inert gaseous atmosphere of Ar or the like, arcs are generated between the same and a W cathode which is provided movably forward and backward, whereby the anode is melted and scattered and the powder of the metals dispersed uniformly with nonmetals as a raw material for dispersion reinforcement type sintered alloys is produced easily. |
