PURPOSE:To decrease the number of water replenishments, and moreover eliminate water replenishment by bringing an anode plate into contact with a water repellent microporous body and forcing to supply a gas containing oxygen gas to the anode plate through the water repellent microporous body. CONSTITUTION:A reaction indicating by reaction formulas (1), (2), (3) is taken place by spraying a gas containing oxygen gas to the surface of an anode plate 4 from a water repellent microporous body 5 via a supply tube 6 from the outside of a storage battery. Because the water repellent microporous body 5 is in contact with the anode body 4, and oxygen gas is supplied to the anode plate through the water repellent microporous body 5, a reversed flow of an electrolyte 2 through the water repellent microporous body 5 is prevented. Since the electrolyte 2 exists in a form of film between the anode plate 4 and the water repellent microporous body 5, three layer interface of the anode plate 4, oxygen gas, and the electrolyte 2 which is necessary to combine oxygen gas with the anode plate 4 is formed readily to make oxygen gas absorption efficiently. |
